New Binder for EIFS Applications
Synthomer has added a water-based binder for use in EIFS (exterior insulation and finishing system) or ETICS (external thermal insulation composite systems) applications.
The UK-based emulsion polymer producer says its new LITEX SX 591 binder boasts excellent adhesion to mineral substrates and outstanding wetting performance.
Moreover, the product reportedly forms a tack-free, strong and reliable film with water and alkali resistance.
The binder is coater ready for glass fiber fabrics finishing and complements Synthomer’s existing product range, the company says.
With the option to blend the new grade with softer or harder latex grades, the company offers a “comprehensive and very flexible system” to the fiber bonding industry, Synthomer adds.
