Learn to Evaluate, Specify for Slip Resistance

Various standards for evaluating slip resistance are among the topics to be discussed in the next free webinar from JPCL and SSPC.

Veteran chemist Fred Goodwin will present Evaluation of Slip and Fall Resistance of Flooring Systems from 11 am to noon ET Wednesday, Jan. 20.

Webinar participants will be eligible to receive continuing education credits from SSPC.

Participants may register here free.

What You Will Learn

In his hourlong session, Goodwin will cover evaluation standards to assist owners and specifiers who must specify required slip resistance for a floor surfacing (or coating) in a given service environment.

He will also review recommended maintenance protocols for hard flooring surfaces to increase slip resistance, and a sample form that can be used to investigate accidents and determine corrective actions.

Explanations of terminology related to slip resistance, descriptions of standard methods and testing equipment for assessing slip resistance, and considerations when interpreting test results are also included.

Webinar Series

The webinar is part of the 2015 JPCL/SSPC Webinar Education Series, which provides continuing education for SSPC recertifications and technology updates on important topics.

SSPC is an accredited training provider for the Florida Board of Professional Engineers (FBPE), and Professional Engineers in Florida may submit SSPC Webinar Continuing Education Units to the board.

To do so, applicants must download the FBPE CEU form and pass the Webinar Exam, which costs $25.
