Smooth Finish SPF Insulation Debuts

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2015

Rhino Linings Corp. has introduced a closed cell, spray-polyurethane foam insulation that is suitable for use as a tank and pipeline applications.

ThermalGuard CC2, which is made for residential and commercial insultation needs, ushers in the “next generation” of SPF insulation products, according to the San Diego-based company. The 245fa-blown product expands to 25 times its size in approximately 12 seconds to seal and insulate, Rhino Linings adds.

Code Compliant

The two-pound insulation has been formulated to adhere to the latest building fire codes for residential and commercial interior, exterior and below-grade insulation, the company reports.

ThermalGuard CC2 meets ICC-ES Appendix X requirements, providing fire protection without the need for an additional ignition barrier or intumescent coating in attics and crawl spaces, the company says.

Additionally, the product is Class 1 fire rated and has an R-value of 6.85 per inch, according to product information.

Single Pass Product

“ThermalGuard CC2 can safely be applied in lift thicknesses of up to 4 inches in a single pass with excellent control and a smooth finish, ultimately saving contractors on installation costs,” said Pierre Gagnon, CEO and president of Rhino Linings.

The product further offers a wide application window and temperature tolerances, low odor and one-step fire protection when applied in attics and crawl spaces, the company says.
