Extrusion Coatings Made to Sparkle

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2015

Valspar Corp. has introduced a new line of architectural coatings billed to offer deep color hues and intense sparkle.

The Nova color line is a 70 percent polyvinylidene difluoride (PVDF) coating that can be matched to nearly any color, according to the company. Part of the Fluropon Effects family, Nova is available for coil and extrusion applications and meets AAMA 620, 621 and 2605-13.

Nova is available with a gold or silver sparkle finish, Valspar said. The company also said the resin-based coating has good color and gloss retention; stands up well to weathering; and is resistant to dirt, stains, chalking and fading.

Valspar said the product is being tested on aluminum extrusions; mullions; soffits and fascia; aluminum-framed windows; entrances; skylights and curtainwall; metal roofing systems; and composite and insulated metal wall panel systems.
