Accella Performance Materials, a St. Louis manufacturer of polyurethanes and recycled rubber products, has announced acquisitions of three spray foam and coatings companies.

Accella has acquired Premium Spray Products, Burtin Polymers Labs and Coating & Foam Solutions LLC.

Terms of the deals, announced Sept. 10, were not disclosed.

Premium Spray Products, based in Marietta, GA, and Regina, Saskatchewan, produces spray foams for insulation and roofing as well as specialized polyurethane systems for niche applications.

Cartersville, GA-based Burtin Polymers Labs and Hartland, WI-based Coating and Foam Solutions, manufacture and distribute spray foams and coatings for insulation and roofing, and specialized spray elastomers, including truck bed liners and other heavy-duty coatings.

‘Polyurethane Systems House’

“The [Premium Spray Products] acquisition supports Accella’s strategy to build the leading polyurethane systems house in North America,” stated Andy Harris, president and CEO of Accella.

Premium Spray Products President Mac Hess, who will stay on with Accella said, “We are very excited about the potential to leverage the technical, financial and personnel resources from Accella across North America.”

Calling the connection a “cultural fit,” Hess noted that Premium Spray Products’ expects little or no change to its operations and customer service.

Premium Spray Products’ portfolio includes Foamsulate, Premiseal and Premicote systems for residential, commercial and industrial applications.

Expanding Footprint

In its announcement regarding the Burtin and CFS acquisitions, Accella said its production facilities will increase to nine across the U.S., one in Europe and another in China.

“The combination of Burtin and Accella provides strong technical expertise and a portfolio of polyurethane system capabilities, allowing us to further expand our manufacturing footprint and provide even more valuable solutions for our customers based on deep polyurethane technology and application expertise,” Harris commented.

Burtin Polymer Labs owner Claudio Burtin said, “I am very pleased to see this great combination come together. Accella is a great home for our employees and technologies, which will bring expanded opportunities for our customers and employees alike.”
