Fall Color Trends Live in the Now
The world around us may be moving at a fast pace and steeped in technology and instant gratification, but Kelly-Moore Paints hopes to help us slow down and live in the moment.
Through its new 2015 Fall Color Forecast, Kelly-Moore Paints seeks to help consumers celebrate nature and our roles as stewards of our environment.
Fresh, Clean and Unexpected
The palettes in the Fall Forecast are fresher and cleaner than previous years’ trends, the company says, featuring unexpected colors such as yellows, greens, cyans and mauves.
Blue is a dominant color family in the fall palette this year, and Coastal Surf, named Kelly-Moore’s 2015 Color of the Year by the American Society of Interior Designers, makes an appearance in one palette.
Pink also pops up in palettes throughout the forecast this year and is recognized as its own color family.
Rooted in Nature
The 2015 Fall Color palettes are a mix of rich nature tones, neutrals, and brights, all working together to evoke the sense of escape and tranquility we crave.
It’s Paradise suggests the colors of escapism. The company says, “The colors in this story take us out of reality and onto a tropical island of uninhibited fantasy.” Coastal Surf appears here, as do several of the company’s Most Influential Colors of 2015: Swagger, a vibrant turquoise that was in the running as Color of the Year; Elf Slippers, a light mossy green; Bon Fire, a pale terra cotta; Dangerously Red, a creamy rose.
The color story of the Living the Dream palette is one of tranquility and durability. These are cooler neutrals, soft sand colors, and cloudy sky whites and blues that suggest a dreamy state of “unspoken wealth.” Names like Folk Tales, Wind Weaver, Pony Tail, Pacific Bliss and Steiglitz Fog, among others, convey the dreamlike state of the palette.
Bright sky blue and dark navy cool the reds, pinks and mauves in the Live Like a Girl palette. The story behind this palette is one of the growing confidence and empowerment of women. It celebrates women creating their own successful businesses and empowering others in the process. One of the line’s Most Influential Colors of 2015, Surfer Girl—a bold pink, appears here.
Elemental Surprise combines the earthy and unexpected. The palette is rotted in nature and has a sense of enriching our existing. Neutrals of gray and taupe and terra cottas stabilize the bright yellow, blue and green in this color story. Names like Dinosaur Bone, African Safari, Nectar of the Gods and Wow 57 suggest the range exhibited here.
