Insulation Firm Inks 6th Acquisition


In a move it says will increase its footprint in New Jersey, the New York metropolitan area and Texas, Installed Building Products Inc. has acquired Eastern Contractor Services.

Based in Columbus, OH, IBP is one of the country’s largest insulation installers for the residential new construction market and is also a diversified installer of complementary building products.

The acquisition is the sixth such deal for the insulation installer this year, the company announced in a press release issued Aug. 10.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Eastern has annual sales of approximately $23 million, according to IBP.

Eastern is a 41-year-old company with a primary focus on fiberglass and spray foam insulation installations. It has locations in Flanders and Tuckerton, NJ.

The company also operates as Parker Insulation and Building Products in Nederland, TX. Parker's product offerings include fiberglass and spray foam insulation, as well as garage doors and other related products.

Jeffrey W. Edwards is the president, CEO and chairman of IBP.

Both Eastern and Parker focus on new single-family and multi-family residential construction end markets.

Robust Acquisition Program

“This acquisition brings our total acquired revenue in 2015 to approximately $85 million as we continue to pursue excellent acquisition opportunities in our target markets,” IBP Chairman and CEO Jeff Edwards said in a statement.
