THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 2015

Axalta Coating Systems has introduced two new Ganicin organic zinc-rich primers.

Ganicin 2.8 MC-U is formulated with Axalta’s polyurethane technology to deliver corrosion resistance for steel surfaces, the company said. The 2.8 pounds-per-gallon volatile organic compounds (low-VOC) primer is intended for use on carbon steel substrates.

Developed with Axalta’s epoxy amine technology, the company said Ganicin 2.8 ZR-E is a 2.8 pounds-per-gallon VOC zinc-rich organic primer. It is formulated to be a high-performance primer with good adhesion and solvent, and is chemical resistant, Axalta said.

Ganicin coatings are Axalta’s newest industrial primer product line that the company said includes zinc-rich polyurethane and epoxy and moisture-cured primers that conform to SSPC-20 Class 1 definitions for zinc-rich products containing 85 percent zinc in the dry film. They are formulated to be highly corrosion-resistant.

The company said the products are made for areas that require industrial maintenance, chemical plants, refineries and waste treatment facilities.
