Interior Coating Designed to Stop Odors

MONDAY, JULY 27, 2015

Sto Corp. has released an interior coating product formulated to eliminate indoor odors.

StoCoat Climasan is a one-component, acrylic latex paint that does not require special equipment or application methods, the company said in announcing the product on its website.

The product is suitable for applying on properly prepared new and previously painted plaster, drywall brick and concrete masonry unit (CMU).

StoCoat Climasan contains Visible Light Catalyst (VLC), which continuously degrades organic compounds and pollutants that cause odors, and the process remains active for as long as the coating is exposed to light, the Atlanta-based manufacturer said.

In addition to having fewer than 5 g/l VOC, StoCoat Climasan dries to a washable, flat finish that can be cleaned quickly.

The company said it can be used in any home or business environment, including places that have high VOCs from new construction.
