Descaler Helps Prep Ship Decks

WEDNESDAY, JULY 15, 2015

NORWALK, CT--A descaler that allows workers to rapidly remove corrosion and coatings from ship decks and other metal substrates is now available from CS Unitec.

The Trident Neptune Flexible Shaft Deck Descaler can remove rust, paint and unwanted deposits, leaving a good surface for priming, painting or other recoating, the company says.

The Trident Neptune comes in three models: pneumatic with a swivel base; electric with a swivel base; and electric with a skid base.

Each model comes with standard equipment, including a 9-foot by 5/8-inch flexible shaft; a heavy-duty leaf scaling head; a six-cutter scaling head; a 6-inch power brush; and a spanner set and hand guard.

The pneumatic model has more horsepower and a faster cutting speed than the electric models.

The Trident Neptune descalers are lightweight, portable, have motor-overheating protection and a non-corrosive D-coupling, according to the company.
