Film, Coating Made to Protect Floors

ST. PAUL, MN--3M's Scotchgard brand has updated its lineup of products to enhance protection of high-traffic floors in light industrial and commercial settings.

Scotchgard Surface Protection Film 2200 is a new offering designed to provide substantial, nearly invisible protection for building entrances, bathrooms and other areas with major foot traffic.

Scotchgard Resilient Floor Protector is a reformulation of the company's nanocoating for hospital and office floors.

The film is designed to reduce stripping and refinishing needs on multiple surfaces in hospitals, office buildings and other spaces.

Developed to cover stone and vinyl flooring, bathroom surfaces and walls, the film helps protect against high foot traffic, furniture use and spills, according to 3M.

Available in one-, two- or four-foot squares, the film is certified by the National Floor Safety Institute as able to provide “High Traction."

The film can be used to protect waxed vinyl, sealed concrete, marble and ceramic tile terrazzo and other floor surfaces. It is compatible with standard floor cleaning procedures, disinfectants, cleaners and coatings, the company says.

Designed for floor maintenance in hospitals, schools, office and retail spaces, the two-coat protector is formulated for multiple surfaces, including sheet vinyl, linoleum, luxury vinyl, and Vinyl Composition Tile (VCT), the company says.

The protector works with the 3M Resilient Floor Protection System to allow for reduced chemical usage and increased operational efficiency, 3M says.
