SAN DIEGO—Protective-coatings maker Rhino Linings Corp. is reaching deeper into the building products market with the acquisition of a Missouri spray-foam insulation maker.

Arnthane Inc., based in Richmond, MO, is a full-service chemical manufacturer, providing spray foam, polyurea, epoxy and urethane coatings to a variety of industries.

Rhino plans to incorporate the Arnthane line of foam products into the Rhino spray-foam portfolio, according to an announcement May 19. Terms of the deal were not released.

About Rhino

Rhino's Industrial Division specializes in developing 1:1 spray polyurethane foam insulation and sealants to improve the efficiency of buildings and 1:1 and 2:1 polyurethane, polyurea and polyaspartic formulations to protect against abrasion, corrosion, impact, and slipping vibration.

The San Diego-based company has a commercial, industrial, military and retail network of over 2,000 independently owned businesses, contractors and applicators in more than 80 countries around the world.

Founded in 1988, Rhino Linings has five divisions: Vehicle Protection, Industrial, Epoxy, Flooring and Military.

Expanding Reach

The Arnthane acquisition allows Rhino Linings to expand its reach into the industrial and commercial building products market, a company goal since 2011.

"Arnthane's impressive product offerings, coupled with Rhino Linings excellent marketing capability and extensive distribution channels will make Rhino Linings an even greater force in the spray foam and coatings marketplace,” said Pierre Gagnon, the president and CEO of Rhino Linings.

Rhino's five business units include Rhino Industrial, which makes spray-on elastomeric coatings for containment, roofs, wastewater plants and other applications.

Gagnon noted that both Rhino Linings and existing Arnthane customers would now be able to purchase from an expanded product list.

Arnthane’s employees will join Rhino Linings while continuing to research, develop and manufacture products from their Richmond facility.
