New PosiTector Boasts Imaging Sensors

OGDENSBURG, NY—DeFelsko has introduced a new surface profile gauge with 2D and 3D imaging sensors that measure peak density.

The PosiTector RTR P is the latest addition to the PosiTector RTR series, which measures and records surface profile parameters using Testex Press-O-Film Replica Tape.

The sensors in the patented RTR P measure Peak Density (Pd) information contained in replica tape in addition to peak height.

Applications and Features

Advanced models are able to generate 2D/3D images and SDF files of the replicated surface. Black-and-white 2D and color 3D images may be included in reports and used to confirm a consistent blast profile.

RTR-P

A high-res Surface Data File can be imported into third-party rendering software for further analysis.

A high-resolution Surface Data File (SDF) can be imported into third-party rendering software for further examination at a lower cost than interferometric or confocal profiling devices, according to DeFelsko.

With a single measurement, the PosiTector RTR Series produces a linearized peak-to-valley height measurement (HL) over the full range of Coarse and X-Coarse tapes, eliminating the need for averaging multiple measurements, the manufacturer says.
