WorkBoat Set for New Maintenance Show
A new conference and expo targeting marine maintenance and repair is docking in New Orleans next month.
The WorkBoat Maintenance & Repair Conference and Expo will be held April 14-16 at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
This new event is for fleet managers, port captains and operators responsible for the maintenance and repair of commercial vessels.
"We know that today's changing technology, economy, and regulatory environment means you and your team need to be more agile and learn new products and skills faster than ever before," says organizer Diversified Communications.
Exhibitors, Coatings Sessions
Vessel operators and suppliers have expressed demand for a conference and trade show dedicated to the maintenance and repair segment of the workboat industry, says Diversified, which also hosts the International Workboat Show & Annual Conference.
"Both the WorkBoat magazine team and International WorkBoat Show trade show team have heard from many of our exhibitors and advertisers who say that there is a real need for a show which reflects the specific challenges of the marine maintenance and repair segment," says Bob Callahan, show director.
Numerous coatings companies, SSPC and NACE are all scheduled to exhibit, along with more than 130 suppliers of maintenance and repair products and services.
On April 14, a lineup of experts will lead a series of presentations, panel discussions and roundtables designed to help navigate maintenance issues in the ever-changing commercial marine world.
Conference tracks include Structure & Hull, Power & Propulsion, and Regulations.
Several sessions are relevant to the coatings industry, including "Quality Paint Applications Through the Use of Standards" and "Understanding Corrosion."
A keynote luncheon will feature Captain Nick Sloane, managing director of Sloane Marine Ltd., the senior salvage master on the Costa Concordia wreck removal project.
