BASF Launches Concrete Wall Coating

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 4, 2015

BASF has rolled out a new hydrophobic protective coating engineered to protect vertical concrete, concrete masonry units (CMU), and masonry.

MasterProtect C 350 is a water-based, 100 percent acrylic coating that repels water and dirt, helping to reduce exterior maintenance costs and keep facades looking attractive.

Availability, Features

Available in the U.S. and Canada, the coating can be applied as a restoration topcoat or used on new vertical construction, according to BASF. The low-VOC formulation boasts “excellent” adhesion to concrete and existing coatings, the manufacturer says.

Additional features include long-lasting color retention and resistance to wind-driven rain and heavy UV exposure, according to product data.

MasterProtect C 350 is available in four tintbases, with formulations to match the 50 colors in the MasterProtect Color Portfolio. Custom colors are also available, BASF says.

BASF Construction Chemicals

Based in Shakopee, MN, BASF’s Construction Chemicals division manufactures chemicals for new construction, maintenance, repair and renovation of structures.

The company’s product portfolio includes waterproofing systems, sealants, concrete repair and protection systems, and performance flooring systems.
