Silicone Roof Coating Debuts

THURSDAY, JANUARY 22, 2015

Roof coatings and waterproofing maker R.M. Lucas Co. has rolled out a silicone coating designed for flat roofs that retain water.

The product, #8000 Silicone Roof Coating, complements the Chicago-based company's existing line of roof restoration products.

The 100 percent silicone-based coating bonds to all major roof substrates, including EPDM, aged PVC, aged acrylic coatings, concrete and metal, the company says.

The one-part coating provides a durable, breathable, watertight barrier that resists natural weathering, according to product literature.

Application, Colors

R.M. Lucas says #8000 is designed to be applied with a sprayer or roller.

The product is available in reflective white and other common roof colors, the company says.

Founded in 1912, R.M. Lucas provides professional-grade coatings, adhesives and sealants to builders throughout North America.
