TUESDAY, DECEMBER 23, 2014

A high-performance coating for insulated and uninsulated steel and concrete surfaces is the newest offering from Dampney Company Inc.

Protexior Chemical-Resistant Epoxy is designed to resist wet-dry thermal cycling, boiling water, and steam.

The Protexior Epoxy Top Coat & Primer Kit combines a corrosion- and heat-resistant coating up to 450°F into one specification that meets both ISO 20340 and ASTM B-117, the company reports. Typical uses include piping, vessels, valves, ducts, and plenums.

The low-VOC coating features Novolac epoxy protection integrated with silicone resin technology.

Suitable for indoor and outdoor Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) applications, the Protexior kit conforms to:

  • ASTM G 85-02 modified salt spray;
  • ASTM D-543 boiling water resistance;
  • ASTM D-3359 adhesion tape test; and
  • ISO 20340 Annex A Aging resistance.

Protexior can be applied by roller or spray and is available in one- and five-gallon kits.

Founded in 1917, Dampney Company develops, manufactures, and distributed a wide range of engineered coating systems for specialized applications.
