The harsh environment of the offshore gas and oil industry has led to new technologies and methods to overcome maintenance challenges.
These developments, such as ultra high-pressure (UHP) waterjetting for surface preparation, are discussed in "Addressing the Maintenance Challenge," a free webinar to be held from 11 a.m. to noon ET (4 to 5 p.m. CET) Sept. 25.

This webinar will provide an understanding of the potential benefits and main challenges of UHP, including its effect on coating selection.
It includes an overview of the most common coating selection tools and the limits of conventional accelerated laboratory testing approaches in the context of UHP. Additionally, there will be information about UHP wastewater treatment methods for an environmentally safe and economical way to manage UHP water on offshore platforms.
The session will be presented by Joao Azevedo, Oil & Gas Market Director (EMEA Region) for Sherwin-Williams Protective and Marine Coatings, and product manager Sandra Ball.

About the Presenters
Azevedo joined Euronavy in 1999, where he mainly managed offshore projects and eventually founded Euronavy Coating Singapore. Since Sherwin-Williams acquired Euronavy in 2008, he has assumed additional business development roles, with an emphasis on protective coatings for offshore applications.
Azevedo is a NACE Level III Certified Coating Inspector and became a qualified chemical engineer at the Technical University of Lisbon. He holds an MBA in marketing from the Catholic University of Lisbon.
