New Web Tool Manages Pipeline Data
GE and Accenture have teamed up on a new "Industrial Internet solution for pipeline management" to give pipeline customers faster access to data.
Intelligent Pipeline Solution provides a standard way to run predictive analytics at scale, according to the companies.
The technology can help pipeline operators make better decisions concerning the condition of their critical machines and assets in the oil and gas pipeline industry, the companies say.
Integrating Data
The product integrates existing asset data with digital visualizations, analytics and shared situational intelligence. According to the companies, the technology digitizes and integrates both historical and real-time internal and external data streams "to provide greater situational awareness for management and operations."
Intelligent Pipeline Solution combines Pipeline Management, GE's Predictivity software solution powered by the Predix platform, with Accenture's digital technology and systems integration capabilities.
"We've delivered a comprehensive software solution that helps operators prioritize where valuable resources are needed most and respond to potential events with a higher level of confidence," said Brian Palmer, CEO, GE Measurement & Control.
"We anticipate transportation pipeline companies using the solution will see operational efficiency improvements in integrity, maintenance, safety and regulatory compliance," Palmer said.
