Coating Offers Thin-Film Insulation
AkzoNobel’s International brand has launched a thin-film, spray-applied insulation coating for industrial environments.
Intertherm 3350 protects personnel from contact with hot surfaces of up to 350°F, according to the company. It can be used as insulating material for heat and energy conservation and also reduces exposure to corrosion under insulation (CUI).
Continuous Insulation Barrier
The product can be applied with standard airless spray equipment to form a continuous thermal insulation barrier that brings hot surfaces down to safe-touch temperatures, AkzoNobel says.
"Unlike bulkier multi-layer insulation systems being used in the market, Intertherm 3350 is super lightweight and easy to install," says Chris McMillan, AkzoNobel Protective Coatings' North American Marketing Manager.
"The coating takes up minimal space, so coated surfaces can be quickly visually inspected," McMillan says.
