Roof Coatings Boast Energy Savings

MONDAY, JULY 21, 2014

Polyglass USA Inc. has introduced a white roof option with a line of advanced silicone coatings products.

Polybrite 90 and 95 silicone coatings provide “excellent resistance to weathering UV radiation, extreme temperatures, rain, ice and snow,” the company said in a product statement.

The latest white roof system uses silicone roof coatings products that include water-based and solvent-based options, primers and accessories.

According to Polyglass, the inorganic, moisture-cured silicone coatings “provide flexible and durable protective barrier against weather elements."

Features and Benefits

“These advanced silicone coatings offer tremendous weatherproofing advantages that make sense for the contractor, the building owner, and the environment,” said Scott Lelling, senior manager of Strategic Marketing at Polyglass.

The company says the product also improves ponding water protection, reduces energy costs by decreasing roof surface temperature, and is fungal and algal resistant in high temperatures.

Polybrite 90 and Polybrite 95 are available in White and Kool Grey colors and can be purchased in five-gallon pails and 50-gallon drums.
