Painter’s Tape Gets Adhesive Revamp

THURSDAY, MAY 29, 2014

Shurtape Technologies LLC says it has reformulated its medium adhesion painter’s tape to meet the durability demands of today’s painting projects.

CP 27 can be used on interior or exterior surfaces, and removes cleanly for up to 14 days without damage from painted walls, trim, woodwork, glass and metal, the company says.

New Features

The paper tape has been engineered with a new synthetic rubber-based adhesive, a feature that allows for clean removal without surface damage, according to Shurtape.

The company says the new adhesive also increases tack, so that the tape stays affixed to surfaces, helping to prevent lifting and paint seepage.

Cleaner paint lines are also achieved as the combination of paper and adhesive results in lower stretch and less flagging, the company notes.

The product is available at Sherwin-Williams stores nationwide.

Based in Hickory, NC, Shurtape Technologies manufactures a variety of pressure sensitive tapes.
