Intumescent SPF Coating Launched

THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2014

Flame Control Coatings has developed a water-based, thin-film intumescent coating for spray polyurethane foam insulation.

Flame Control 60-60A Thermal Barrier coating is approved for use in occupied spaces where the SPF insulation must be separated from the interior by a 15-minute thermal barrier.

The low-VOC, latex coating can be applied over exposed SPF insulation in roofing assemblies, drop ceilings, garages, warehouses, basements and other inhabited spaces, according to the company.

Flame Control 60-60A can be applied using a brush, roll or sprayer, and dries to a flat finish.

Based in Niagara Falls, NY, Flame Control Coatings has manufactured flame-retardant, heat-resistant and specialty coatings for more than 35 years.
