Q-Lab Unveils 3 Corrosion Test Units

TUESDAY, APRIL 8, 2014

Q-Lab, a global provider of weathering and corrosion test equipment, has introduced the Q-FOG CRH cyclic corrosion testers, designed to perform traditional salt spray, Prohesion and most cyclic automotive tests.

The Q-FOG tester allows users to cycle through "all of the most significant corrosion environments" in one chamber, the manufacturer says. Complex, multi-step test cycles can be programmed with the controller, allowing the tester to reproduce months or years of damaging conditions in days or weeks.

The unit is available in three models:

  • Base model SSP performs traditional salt spray and Prohesion tests.
  • Model CCT performs salt spray, Prohesion and most cyclic automotive tests.
  • Model CRH adds adds variable relative humidity control and an optional shower function.

Features and Characteristics

All Q-FOG chambers are available in two sizes: 600 and 1,100 liters. Test panel racks, hanging rod kits and flat grates are available for mounting specimens of all shapes and sizes weighing up to 1,200 pounds.

Caster wheel kits are available to allow for moving the units.

Q-Lab says Q-FOG testers were "specifically designed to have the lowest total cost of ownership in the industry."

Q-FOG

Q-FOG testing chambers are available in three models; each comes in two sizes.

Made of fiber-reinforced plastic, the units are easy to install, program and operate, according to Q-Lab, and can operate continuously 24/7 without supervision.
