Concrete Waterproofer Made for Extremes

FRIDAY, APRIL 4, 2014

A new cold-applied waterproofing compound from W.R. Meadows can suit concrete applications in a variety of settings—horizontal and vertical, interior and exterior, below- and above-grade, in heat and cold, the company says.

Hydralastic 836 is a one-component, solvent-free waterproofing material that will not crack in extreme cold or soften and slump at high temperatures, according to the manufacturer.

The company says Hydralastic 836 can be used for positive-side waterproofing for foundations and between-slab applications.

Additional Features

“It bonds to both concrete and asphalt, does not require primer, will not harm EPS or Styrofoam materials, and there’s no mixing required,” said Brent Weber, W.R. Meadows’ vice president of sales.

The low-VOC product skins over in 30 minutes; will not shrink or freeze; and cures to form a tough, flexible waterproofing membrane, the manufacturer says.

Based in Hampshire, IL, W.R. Meadows Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets building materials for construction professionals. The family-owned and -operated company sells products through an authorized distribution network.
