N.G. Painting LP, of Kerrville, TX, will paint and repair an 8.5 million gallon water storage tank in Cedar Hill, TX, the Trinity River Authority of Texas announced.

The company was awarded a $67,250 contract March 7 to paint, spot repair and apply protective coatings to the various surfaces of the steel ground-level water tank.

Bids were due February 26.

Scope of Work

The tank measures 185 feet in diameter and is 45 feet tall.

Exterior surfaces will be hand and power-tool cleaned to a White Metal finish (SSPC-SP 11) and coated with a polyurethane system.

Interior surfaces requiring repair will be abrasive blast-cleaned to a Near White finish (SSPC-SP 10) and lined with an epoxy system.

The project also includes the installation of a new screen on the existing vent at the top of the tank. The contractor will also repair the interior access ladder on the structure.

The tank will require disinfection following any repair or touch-up services.
