New Concrete Waterproofer Bows

TUESDAY, APRIL 1, 2014

W.R. Meadows has introduced Hydralastic 836 waterproofing for interior and exterior concrete and asphalt surfaces, including plaza decks, planter boxes and sealing parapets.

Hydralastic 836 is a one-component, cold-applied, solvent-free waterproofing material that will not crack in extreme cold or slump due to softening at high temperatures, the company says.

The low-VOC product is suitable for use for above-grade, below-grade, horizontal and vertical applications, according to the manufacturer.

The company says Hydralastic 836 can be used for positive-side waterproofing for foundations and in between-slab applications as well.

Additional Features

“It bonds to both concrete and asphalt, does not require primer, will not harm EPS or Styrofoam materials, and there’s no mixing required,” said Brent Weber, W.R. Meadows’ vice president of sales.

The product skins over in 30 minutes; will not shrink or freeze; and cures to form a tough, flexible waterproofing membrane, the manufacturer says.

Based in Hampshire, IL, W.R. Meadows Inc. designs, manufactures, and markets building materials for construction professionals. The family-owned and -operated company sells products through an authorized distribution network.
