Icynene Offers New Spray Foam Insulation

MONDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2014

Spray-foam manufacturer Icynene has introduced ProSeal, a closed-cell, medium-density, spray-foam insulation for commercial and residential applications.

Offering an R-value of R7 per inch, Icynene ProSeal is designed to provide optimal thermal performance for construction projects across North America, according to the company.

The introduction of Icynene ProSeal follows the recent launch of Icynene ProSeal Eco—billed as the world’s first 100 percent water-blown, closed-cell spray foam insulation.

Features, Approvals

Icynene ProSeal’s formulation allows for “a higher initial pass of three inches achieving R21 as well as a Class II Vapor Retarder in one pass,” the manufacturer says.

The product is suitable for use all year round and can be applied in cold weather, as low as 23F (-5C).

Icynene ProSeal is approved for use in Type I-V construction; meets the same commercial approvals as its predecessor Icynene MD-C-200; and has passed the International Code Council Evaluation Services’ AC377 for use in unvented attics and crawlspaces without an ignition barrier.

Based in Mississauga, Ontario, Icynene manufactures light-density open-cell and medium-density closed-cell insulation and air-barrier materials.
