NACE Expands Training to Middle East
NACE International has announced plans to open a new corrosion control training facility in Dubai, UAE.
The training center, part of the NACE International Institute, will be the organization's first permanent training center for members and clients in the Middle East. The facility is expected to open in early spring.
NACE will administer courses there throughout the year, except during the month of Ramadan. (This year, Ramadan begins June 28 and ends July 27.)
Programs on cathodic protection and coating inspection will be offered first, NACE said.
Eventually, NACE plans to offer its entire portfolio of courses in Dubai. Topics will include general corrosion, coatings, internal corrosion for pipelines, and pipeline integrity management.
Training 6 Days a Week
The training center will be located in the Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), a campus dedicated to higher education. The center, with two classrooms, will be open six days a week, and NACE expects to see more than 1,000 students annually. The center is located 25 kilometers (about 15.5 miles) from Dubai International Airport.
"I hear from business owners, CEOs, and human resources professionals almost daily about how valuable NACE Institute certified professionals are," said NACE President Tushar Jhaveri.
"The demand is there, the jobs are there, the future employees are there, and now we are bringing the training to them to meet the demand," Jhaveri said.
