Carboline Unveils 3 Pipe Linings

TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 19, 2013

Improving natural-gas pipe flow efficiency is the promise of three new epoxy lining products from Carboline Co.

High-performance Polyclad 951, Polyclad 952, and Polyclad 956 are designed to "act as a flowliner, creating a smooth surface on the interior of pipes to increase flow efficiency and reduce energy cost of transporting natural gas," according to St. Louis, MO-based Carboline.

The coatings create a smooth, low-friction surface that can increase pipe flow efficiency up to six percent, according to Carboline. The linings also help to keep gas pure and prevent corrosion during pipe storage, the company says.
