Steel-Tech Adds Spray Coating
Rust-Oleum has uncapped an aerosol version of its stainless-steel-infused Steel-Tech High Performance protective line.
The newest addition to the Steel-Tech suite contains real 316L stainless-steel flakes "to provide ultimate protection in harsh environments," according to Rust-Oleum Industrial Brands.
The high-solids coating is designed for one-coat protection of a variety of metal surfaces, including structural steel, in industrial and commercial settings.
The company recommends the product for use on beams, storage tanks and pipes, and many other applications in the food and beverage, chemical and petroleum industries. The 15-ounce spray can be used on surfaces up to 200°F and meets U.S. Department of Agriculture requirements for incidental food contact, the company says.
Steel-Tech enamel spray dries to the touch in 20 minutes and protects against chipping, cracking and peeling, the company reports.
The Steel-Tech High Performance coating suite, first launched in November 2012, features epoxy and polyurethane coating systems that offer protection in harsh environments, the company says.
Both Steel-Tech Epoxy Mastic (a durable, two-part epoxy system) and Steel-Tech Polyurethane (a one-component system) can be applied with brush, roller or spray to a variety of metal surfaces. Both are direct-to-metal coatings that carry a two-year rustproof guarantee.
The new Steel-Tech spray paint color matches the metallic gray finish of the Steel-Tech's polyurethane formula for convenient touch-up, the company says.
