Steel-Infused Spray Coating Bows

THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2013

Rust-Oleum Industrial Brands has expanded its line of high-performance, stainless-steel-rich coatings to include a spray coating.

The newest addition to the Steel-Tech High Performance coating suite contains real 316L stainless-steel flakes for protection of a variety of metal surfaces, including structural steel, in commercial and industrial settings.

The Vernon Hills, IL-based company also recommends the product for use on beams, storage tanks and pipes, and many other applications in the food and beverage, chemical and petroleum industries.

Other Features

The product dries to the touch in 20 minutes and protects against chipping, cracking and peeling with one-coat coverage, the company reports.

The 15-ounce spray can be used on surfaces that reach up to 200 degrees Fahrenheit and meets U.S. Department of Agriculture requirements for incidental food contact, the company says.

Steel-Tech Suite

The Steel-Tech High Performance coating suite, first launched in November 2012, features epoxy and polyurethane coating systems that offer protection in harsh environments, the company says.

Both Steel-Tech Epoxy Mastic (a durable, two-part epoxy system) and Steel-Tech Polyurethane (a one-component system) can be applied with brush, roller or spray to a variety of metal surfaces. Both are direct-to-metal coatings that carry a two-year rustproof guarantee.

The new Steel-Tech spray paint color matches the metallic gray finish of the Steel-Tech's polyurethane formula for convenient touch-up, the company says.
