New Spray Gun Cleaner Made Greener

MONDAY, AUGUST 12, 2013

VersaFlex Inc. has introduced a new solvent/stripper designed to remove uncured polyurea, polyurethane, epoxies and polyester resins from spray guns and equipment parts.

Dzolv is designed for contractors who spray polyurea or polyurethane foam and find it difficult to remove crystallized iso and resin as well as hardened finishes from gun parts, pump parts, proportioning equipment and PPE.

A water-soluble organic solvent, containing no aromatics or petroleum distillates, Dzolv is designed to provide maximum stripping effectiveness while incorporating a high flash point and low toxicity.

Features and Specs

According to VersaFlex, the product replaces most industrial solvents such as chlorinated hydrocarbons (methylene chloride, carbon tetrachloride and 1,1,1 trichlorethane) when used on cured polymers.

Dzolv may be applied liberally and used in baths where possible for stationary stripping, the manufacturer says. After application, the user can scrub the parts with a brush and cleaning tools to remove unwanted polymers.

VersaFlex says Dzolv:

  • Has a VOC level acceptable to the SCAQMD region;
  • Dilutes with water;
  • Is non toxic, easy to apply, low odor, and non flammable;
  • Has a flash point >200°F and an indefinite shelf life;
  • Will not cause hazardous polymerization;
  • Has a low evaporation rate; and
  • Is not RCRA or DOT regulated.

VersaFlex Inc., of Kansas City, KS, formulates, manufactures and supplies pure polyurea coatings, liners and sealants for a wide variety of industrial, commercial and maintenance environments. VersaFlex is ISO 9001:2008 Quality Management System compliant for Polyurea Coating Manufacturing and Design.
