Roof System Adds Low-Solids Option

BROOKFIELD, WI—Volatile Free Inc. has introduced a new 70 percent solids silicone coating formulated to protect roofs from water damage and UV deterioration.

VFI-991 Silicone is a one-component, moisture-cure elastomer designed for use as a cure-in-place waterproof coating for metal, singly-ply, modified bitumen and other roof surfaces.

The material is the latest addition to the manufacturer’s Sealguard line, which also includes a high-solids formulation.

According to product literature, high-build VFI-991 Silicone is UV-resistant and offers protection from leaks, rust and corrosion.

The product is also self-flashing, the company says.

The coating can be applied by sprayer, roller or brush.
