THURSDAY, JULY 4, 2024

At the end of last month, material manufacturer NEI Corporation released a new micron-thick coating to provide easy-to-clean and antimicrobial properties to surfaces.

Nanomyte AM-100EC reportedly adheres to materials used in high-touch applications, including plastics, metals and ceramics in the healthcare, food service, education and public transportation industries.

According to NEI, the coating exhibits “superior” mechanical stability, abrasion resistance and effective antimicrobial properties. Testing conducted in accordance with ISO 22196 standards reportedly confirmed a significant 4-log reduction (99.99% decrease) in E. coli ATCC 8739 after a 24-hour contact time.

Additionally, AM-100EC-coated surfaces are able to repel water and oils to simplify cleaning routines and promote long-term surface hygiene.
