The company recently announced the introduction of the resins, part of the Laromer EA line, which it says exhibit high reactivity and chemical resistance. They are designed for use in UV-curable coatings for the furniture and flooring industry, and in overprint varnishes and printing inks, BASF says.

Five New Products

The five resins are:

  • Laromer EA 9138 (75 percent standard epoxy acrylate in 25 percent TPGDA);
  • Laromer EA 9143 (75 percent standard epoxy acrylate in 25 percent GPTA);
  • Laromer EA 9124 (80 percent standard epoxy acrylate in 20 percent HDDA);
  • Laromer EA 9082 (70 percent standard epoxy acrylate in 30 percent TPGDA); and
  • Laromer EA 9145 (70 percent standard epoxy acrylate in 30 percent DPGDA).

“With the new UV resins, we continue to focus on radiation-curing technologies and offer our customers an even broader range of products for the formulation of coatings and printing inks,” said BASF vice president Ulf Neidlein, who is responsible for the company’s resin and additive business in Europe.

BASF’s Laromer line includes radiation-curable binders and monomers, including epoxy acrylates, polyester acrylates, polyether acrylates, urethane acrylates and functional monomers.
