“Kemper System is all about giving distributors and specifiers one solution for protecting the building envelope, top to bottom, inside and out,” said Richard Doornink, President and Managing Director of Kemper.

The Kempertec Joint Sealant is an addition to the Kempertec primer line of substrate preparation products that the company says is made to quickly fill gaps between cover board or plywood joints and around penetrations to ready surfaces for primer.

“The Kempertec Joint Sealant saves applicators from the multi-step process of mixing and applying a primer/sand slurry mix in joints,” said Doornink. “It cures in less than three hours, and is then ready for the next step of full Kempertec primer application.”

The three GreatSeal Products include:

APV Engineered Coatings
NLB Corporation
  • GreatSeal PE-150—a high-performance, multi-purpose joint sealant that aims to form long-lasting weathertight seals. The indoor/outdoor sealant can be applied in cold weather and adheres to damp surfaces, the company says. It is ideal for resealing joints in roofing, walls and masonry. Kemper adds that it contains no solvents and is low-VOC.
  • GreatSeal LF-500—a liquid flashing that is made for rooftop flashing, maintenance and repair applications. Kemper says the high-performance high-build polyether sealant can be applied via brush, trowel or gun. The single-component polymer can bond on damp surfaces and to materials such as metal, wood, masonry, plastic, fiberglass, glass and foam insulation.
  • GreatSeal LT-100—a liquid tape that the company notes is compatible with Wall Guardian FW 100A liquid-applied fibered acrylic air barrier. The liquid tape seals the lineal, board-to-board joints of gypsum sheathing, EPS, fiberboard and plywood while remaining flexible, the company says. It skins in one hour, moisture-cures completely in three to seven days depending on conditions and is paintable within 24 hours.
