Cleaning System Made for Surface Prep

MONDAY, JUNE 19, 2017

Equipment manufacturer Unimanix (Dorval, Quebec) recently announced its latest high-pressure water cleaning and surface preparation solution, the UNI 7060, designed specifically for overcoat projects.

The system is adjustable up to 7,000 psi and six gallons of water per minute to remove paint and rust. Users can add a soluble salt remover via a built-in additive storage and injection system. The system also has integrated abrasive blasting capabilities for black oxide removal, and an automated low water level shut-off to prevent breakdown from unexpected water disruptions.

Unimanix designed the new unit, which has an 8-foot by 4-foot frame, as an all-in-one system capable of paint and rust removal for structures such as bridges, as well as graffiti removal and expansion joint cleaning. The 7,000 psi high-pressure water cleaning the unit provides fulfills surface prep specs for HRCSA coatings, the company notes.
