Dempster has more than 25 years of experience in the protective coatings industry, specializing in fire protection and pipeline coatings. Before joining International Paint, Dempster held a variety of technical and marketing positions with WR Grace and the Tyco Corrosion Protection Group. He is a member of CSI, SSPC, NACE and past Task Group Chair for ASTM E6.21.01 fireproofing standards.
Dempster holds one patent, has more than 30 publications, and has presented at various conferences and seminars around the globe. He has a BS in Environmental Sciences from Bemidji State University.
