Next week, the Commercial Painting Industry Association will host its inaugural CPIA Leadership Conference in conjunction with Technology Publishing Company’s hosted-buyer event, Commercial Contractor Connect.

Slated to kick off the opening keynote address is Sean Snaith, Director of the University of Central Florida’s Institute for Economic Forecasting. Snaith has served as a consultant for local governments and multinational corporations such as Dell and IBM. He appears frequently on media programs worldwide, where he shares the expertise that has won him awards for accuracy in economic forecasting.

At the event, Snaith will discuss his forecast for the national economy, labor trends and what businesses can expect in the near future in “Economic Outlook for U.S. Businesses.”

For the co-hosted event’s first session, Laurence Pearlman will be presenting “Establishing a Risk Mitigation Scorecard for Your Business.” Pearlman is the Senior Vice President of Consulting Solutions at Marsh Advisory and is noted to be an expert in safety culture, safety management systems, enterprise risk, organizational design, leadership and cultural change. He has been instrumental in designing and implementing transformational change efforts for FTSE 100 and Fortune 1000 companies.

Speaking on several occasions throughout the event, CEO Coach Dwain DeVille is slated to present a three-part workshop that will help participants set and achieve higher goals, solve business problems faster and accomplish more in less time. For three decades, DeVille has helped business leaders create companies that dominate their markets.

“As a result of working with Dwain, my revenue doubled,” wrote one client. DeVille is also the author of The Biker’s Guide to Business: When Business and Life Meet at the Crossroads and founder of The CEO Ride.

Lastly, Jim McBrayer, CEO of McBrayer & Associates, is expected to cover business development best practices. Throughout his career, McBrayer has given paint-and coatings-industry sales teams invaluable methods for exceeding their revenue goals. After serving as sales director for PPG, McBrayer formed his sales coaching business in 2009, mentoring, training and advising more than 3,000 small business owners, front-line managers and salespeople.

Aaron Moore, Co-Founder of the CPIA, will also be moderating a “Key Issues & Solutions” roundtable discussion, while CPIA Co-Founder Steve Hester will be presenting a session on what the association is today and how it plans to progress in the future. Hester will be joined by CPIA Marketing Director Mike Stanley and Commercial Painting Editor-in-Chief Destiny Johnson.

Who is Invited to Contractor Connect (All Expenses Paid)?

While the Leadership Conference is open to all, the Connect event is limited to a selection of qualified buyers and sponsoring suppliers. Those who purchase coatings, equipment, supplies and services for their commercial painting contractor business are urged to apply now for consideration.

The full cost of the conference, travel, meals, activities and accommodations is 100% underwritten by the event host for these contractors. If you qualify, request an invitation by contacting TPC CEO Brion Palmer, bpalmer@technologypub.com (include your phone number), or complete a very brief application form here.

About the CPIA

The Commercial Painting Industry Association is the first and only trade association created exclusively for commercial painting professionals. Its mission is to nurture a peer-based community of industry experts dedicated to learning and development through collaboration. CPIA members have access to all the relevant resources and guidance required for further business growth.

Moore said the organization, started only a couple of years ago, has grown into an “epic group of some of the most important commercial painting organizations in North America.”

In total, the CPIA member companies represent over $150 million in yearly commercial project work and are large buyers of products and services specific to the commercial coatings market.

“CPIA members, themselves, are the organization’s most valuable asset, because their knowledge, expertise and network form the very core of the association,” said Hester. “They take a proactive role in the industry and elevate their business through membership opportunities and benefits.”
