The company said that in creating this report, which included five palette trends, Color Expert & Stylist, Sara McLean, “identified and analyzed the dynamics that shape our lives—from global and regional events, to nature and technology, to history and pop culture, to food and fashion.”
The five trends include the following.
Querencia: A place where one feels at home, rooted in the cultures and traditions of the regional melting pot known as Southwestern Europe. This palette includes primary tones such as Strawberry Jam, Spring Garden, Lemon Punch and Blue Chip
Solibre: A new take on protecting and nurturing our Earth. Here, sustainability, creativity and technology converge, nurtured by the symbiosis of nature and indigenous cultures. This collection features a multitude of earth tones such as Leaf Bud, Flower Stem, Burnt Almond and Marigold.
Hanabi: Spontaneous, inclusive and community, Hanabi (Japanese for "fireworks") is inspired by the spirit and ingenuity of childhood. This grouping features vivid hues such as Vibrant Orchid, Pretty in Pink, Tangerine Dream and Sprig of Mint.
Lagom: In Swedish, Lagom signifies "not too little, not too much,"—taking the time to connect with others in real life, slowing down and finding balance—an apt concept in today's over-connected world. This cluster featured muted shades and neutrals such as Almond Latte, Flintstone, Chocolate Pudding and Silver Creek.
Moonwake: This trend speaks to our inherent need to connect and features shades that point to each of the previous collections with Royal Red Flush, Wild Blue Yonder, Plum Passion and Nightfall.
