After serving 41 years with Clemco Industries Corp. (Washington, Missouri), a manufacturing company for air-powered abrasive blast equipment, company President Arnie Sallaberry has announced his retirement.

The news arrived via emailed press release last week, although Sallaberry first announced his retirement in November 2017.

Clemco currently employs roughly 150 employees and is the world's largest manufacturer of air-powered abrasive blast equipment. The company has been reportedly building industrial-grade blast equipment for contractors, facility owners, metal fabricators and manufacturers since the mid-1940s.

About Sallaberry

Back in 1986, Sallaberry moved his family from the San Francisco Bay Area to Washington, Missouri, where he had begun his first year as General Manager of Zero Manufacturing Company. At the time, the company had recently been acquired by Clemco.

After serving 41 years with Clemco Industries Corp. (Washington, Missouri), a manufacturing company for air-powered abrasive blast equipment, company President Arnie Sallaberry has announced his retirement.

Prior to his work as general manager, Sallaberry was Vice President of Clemco International Sales Company. Under his guidance, Clemco and Zero began the consolidation of manufacturing and other operations located in Memphis, San Francisco and Washington, where a new plant was being built and would later open in 1991.

Eight years after the opening, Sallaberry became President of Clemco, holding the position for nearly two decades. In his role, Sallaberry steered the company to where is stands today in the abrasive blasting industry.

Since announcing his retirement, Sallaberry has been working closely with Tom LaMantia—who came on as the new President in May 2018—for the last year and a half to properly shift his responsibilities to LaMantia.

In moving forward, Sallaberry will continue his role as Chairman of the Board of Clementina Clemco Holdings, Inc., the holding company for the entire Clemco group of companies. He has held this position since 2017.

In regard to his continued participation with the company and drop-ins, the company says in its press release that, “His visits are a reminder of how much his comradery and kind spirit are missed, and of how much his guidance of Clemco and stewardship of its values helped further the company’s leadership in the abrasive blasting industry. All of us at Clemco Industries and Clemco International wish Arnie and his loved ones the best for the future.”
