Research under the contract will largely pertain to aircraft corrosion and multimetal primers. Additionally, research will occur at Elinor’s facilities located at North Dakota State University Research Park. Elinor Coatings has an established history of researching galvanic corrosion and surface protection, while also offering coatings development services including consultation.

“We have a robust and dynamic startup community in North Dakota, something we’ve worked a long time to establish and continue to promote, and it has rightfully garnered national attention,” said U.S. Sen. John Hoeven, R-North Dakota.

“One such innovative company is Elinor Coatings, whose technology showed clear benefits for the nation’s military vessels, among its many other applications. That’s why we worked to connect them with the Air Force and secure a contract that will serve as a major support in the company’s future growth.”

The contact award announcement was made at the fifth annual 1 Million Cups Reunion event, which was held at The Stage at Island Park, in Fargo, North Dakota on Nov. 27, 2019.
