The Foundation of National Roofing Contractors Association, Roofing Alliance, has announced its annual call for funding requests.

The program is reported to have allocated over $5 million in funding, which Roofing Alliance plans to use on roughly 50 programs and projects that support high-quality educational programs and ensure forward-thinking responses to economic and technological issues.

According to Roofing Alliance Executive Director Bennett Judson, $270,276 in project funding was approved in 2019, with about 70% destined for continuing various projects and programs, such as the Roofing Alliance’s ongoing partnership with Ronald McDonald House Charities, the Roofing Alliance Student Competition and construction management partnerships with universities.

The Foundation of National Roofing Contractors Association, Roofing Alliance, has announced its annual call for funding requests.

Last year, the program was also reported to have funded projects that focused on future workforce development, building interest in roofing industry careers and how to better provide funding for NRCA’s partnership with SkillsUSA.

How to Request

In order to be considered for funding, participants must submit a written request to the Roofing Alliance’s Executive Director by Jan. 1, 2020.

Written proposals are to include:

  • An executive summary or overview of project or research;
  • An outline of project or research and detailed description or scope of work;
  • A timeline for the project and its completion date;
  • A plan for promoting the project;
  • Cost and budget estimates;
  • Potential revenue sharing opportunities for the Roofing Alliance;
  • Value to the Roofing Alliance and why Roofing Alliance funding is being requested; and
  • Other groups or organizations that may also be providing funding.

Following submissions, the Roofing Alliance Proposal Review Committee will review proposals, selecting requests that meet all project criteria to be included in the funding request summary presented to the Roofing Alliance Finance and Financial Development Committee.

If a project is selected, the person(s) responsible will be required to present their funding request in-person to the Roofing Alliance Board of Trustees at the April meeting. Submitters will then be notified on the approval or denial of funding 30 days following the April meeting.
