Wood surfaces will require surface preparation using scrapers, mineral spirits and sand papers, as required. Wood shingles, soffit paneling and exposed framing members will receive a two-coat clear sealant. Wood trim surrounding windows will be coated with an exterior alkyd primer and two coats of full gloss exterior alkyd enamel finish coating.

Ferrous metal surfaces that have not been shop coated will require surface preparation using solvent or mechanical cleaning methods. These surfaces will then receive a rust-inhibitive metal primer and two finish coats of a semigloss exterior acrylic-latex enamel.

Galvanized surfaces will be cleaned with a nonpetroleum-based solvent to remove surface contaminants. Zinc-coated metal hollow metal doors and frames will then be coated with a galvanized metal primer and two coats of semigloss exterior acrylic-latex enamel finish coating.

Concrete unit masonry structures will require cleaning and application of two coats of a heavy-saturation spray coating of water repellent using low-pressure spray equipment.

The project will also include rehabilitation of interior gypsum board and architectural woodwork. Gypsum board surfaces will require a latex-based interior primer and two coats of an acrylic-enamel finish. Architectural woodworking will receive a past-wood filler followed by an alkyd-based stain coat, sealer coating and two coats of an alkyd-based or polyurethane varnish finish.
