A graffiti artist recently braved the heights of an Idaho water tower to mark the structure with the words, “Save Ferris.” Whether the work is referring to the band or the movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off remains unclear.

In order to tag the tower, which was built in 1981, the artist had to scale a fence and climb 116 feet up the tower. The words were written in black paint or spray paint.

According to the town’s website, the inside of the water tower’s reservoir was last painted when the tower was built.

The movie Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, one option for what the graffiti is referring to, was released in 1986. The other possible reference, Save Ferris, is a ska-punk band from Orange County, California, that adopted its name from the movie.

“We’re concerned with the safety of the individual where someone could be injured—especially getting up that high,” said Rexburg Police Lt. Colin Erickson. “They possibly could have been injured or even killed.”

Police are still investigating the incident and ask that anyone with information on the graffiti contact the department. Crews are currently painting over the graffiti.
