A design studio out of St. Augustine, Florida, has cooked up a line of candles named after prominent architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright. The candles are meant to inspire the feel of some of the architects’ famous buildings and homes—not the architects themselves.

Yield released the Architect Candle Collection—a line of three fragrances that includes Wright, Carlo Scarpa and John Entenza—earlier this year. Founders Andrew Deming and Rachel Grant told Dezeen that the choices were based off the duo’s personal preferences and that the scents were an attempt to capture a sense of the places they designed.

A design studio out of St. Augustine, Florida, has cooked up a line of candles named after prominent architects, including Frank Lloyd Wright. The candles are meant to inspire the feel of some of the architects’ famous buildings and homes—not the architects themselves.

"When we visited Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin and toured the Eames House, we came away not with the sense of having visited buildings, but with an almost spiritual type of elevation," Deming said. "It's a feeling we always want to bring home with us."

The Wright fragrance includes rose, sand and amber notes, and is based off the setting of Wright’s Taliesin home in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The Entenza candle features a mix of eucalyptus, rosemary and birch, which Yield says is reminiscent of coastal California, pointing to Entenza’s Case Study Homes in the Pacific Palisades.

Finally, Scarpa’s scent blends palo santo, leather and vetiver; a bold scent which Deming says reflects the complexity and subtlety of the designer.

All of the candles are made of a cream soy wax with various colors of wax chips that are sprinkled on top, which melt together into different layers once the wax is warmed.

The scents come in three sizes of candles as well as incense sticks.
