Test and measurement equipment manufacturer Industrial Physics Inc. (Boston) announced Monday (Feb. 4) in an emailed press release the acquisition of C&W Specialist Equipment Ltd., (Craven Arms, England) an entity that specializes in developing corrosion test chambers.
In the acquisition, C&W will become part of TQC Sheen B.V., a lab equipment manufacturer, to test and inspect coatings surface and adhesion.
Business Acquisition
Industrial Physics’ portfolio specializes in addressing customer testing and measurement needs in a broad range of industries, with a focus on packaging and packaging-related applications. Industrial Physics is a portfolio company of private-equity firm Union Park Capital. The acquisition of C&W was a move to expand further into serving customers requiring paint, coatings and surface analysis.

“With a large installed base of test chambers and strong brand recognition in the industry, we are very excited to add the C&W product line to the TQC Sheen product portfolio,” said Antoon van Osch, Managing Director of TQC Sheen B.V. C&W was founded in 1978 by Nigel Cremer.
“We are very excited to be joining the Industrial Physics family of companies," said Nigel Cremer, Managing Director of C&W, who will continue as managing director in the acquisition.
“We have a strong product portfolio and loyal customers but have lacked the global sales and service reach of Industrial Physics. We will now be able to leverage Industrial Physics and its extensive network of channel partners to deliver value to customers anywhere in the world."
