A Sao Paulo, Brazil, facility owned by global coatings firm AkzoNobel (Amsterdam) will become a training center, specializing in programs related to the company's Sparlack Industrial wood coating.

The facility, which will focus initially on programs for wood coatings customers in the furniture industry, includes spray application booths and equipment that replicates the paint line.

Training Facility

Expanded in May of last year, the Santo André plant produces industrial, marine and yacht coatings. The new training center is the second to open in the last eight months. AkzoNobel’s current plans indicate that the training program will be expanded to include metal, marine, protective and yacht coatings by the end of 2018. A regional facility offering similar training opened in Dubai in November.

AkzoNobel

Global coatings firm AkzoNobel recently announced that it will be opening a new training center in Sao Paulo, Brazil, which will include advanced training programs centered around the company’s industrial Sparlack products.

“This is a valuable addition to our service offer which will help us to better understand customer needs and create better solutions in terms of efficiencies, design and performance,” said Eduardo Bruno, AkzoNobel’s Wood Coatings Sales Manager in Brazil.

“By offering advanced training programs, we're enabling customers and partners to experience the application process, ask questions and make suggestions which could speed up the supply of the product to the client."

The training facility is slated to be fully operational by September.

"We are very proud of the new training center, which highlights our commitment to deepening our relationship with our customers," said Jelena Arsic, Regional Director of AkzoNobel in South America. "It will help us to further strengthen customer service standards, promote localized innovation of our products and create the right value for our customers and distributors."
