Lstiburek, Crisman Join Elevation Awards Panel

For Durability + Design’s second annual Elevation Awards, two new judges will be on the esteemed panel of professionals evaluating the work of facility owners, architects, contractors, suppliers and others.

Three judges from both the Aesthetic and Technical categories will be looking at entries this year. They include:


Billy Rosbottom, Creative Director, Sto Corp.

Rosbottom, creative director for Sto Corp., has been an important part of Sto’s global efforts for more than 20 years. He regularly lectures on color in the built environment, has participated in international exhibitions on color and form, has completed the curriculum for the International Association of Color Consultants, is a member of The Color Marketing Group and has studied extensively with his international color design counterparts while living in Germany. Rosbottom has worked with various studios, collaborating with such designers and architects as Deborah Sussman, HOK, Perkins+Will and Global Design Strategies, primarily in environmental design applications. A native of Southern California, he received his degree in design from UCLA and started his professional career in Los Angeles.


Jill Pilaroscia, IACC, Colour Studio, Architectural + Product Color Consultation

Pilaroscia is recognized worldwide as an innovator in the field of color consultation. A 1975 graduate of the San Francisco Art Institute, Pilaroscia launched her career creating palettes for Victorian houses. The founder of Colour Studio, she consults for diverse global companies and is a fully accredited member of the International Association of Color Consultants. She continues to research the psychological, biological and visual ergonomic factors of color.




Jeff Theo, PCS, Vice President of Business Development, Vulcan Painters

Theo, Vice President — Business Development of Vulcan Painters Inc., has over 35 years’ experience in project management, sales, marketing and business management in the coatings industry. His tenure includes employment by painting contractors and coatings manufacturers. He is a past-president of SSPC: The Society for Protective Coatings and has served on their Board of Governors from 1999 to 2009. Jeff currently chairs SSPC’s power tool cleaning and commercial contractor certification subcommittees. He also serves on the SSPC’s Standards Review Board. He is an SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist and an experienced technical speaker with several published articles. He was President of the Coating Society of the Houston Area in 1987. Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business from the University of the State of New York and an Associate’s Degree in Architecture/Construction Technology from the New York Institute of Technology.



Kenneth A. Trimber, PCS, President, KTA-Tator Inc.

Trimber, president of KTA-Tator Inc., has more than 45 years of experience in the industrial painting field. A NACE-certified Coating Inspector and SSPC Protective Coatings Specialist, he holds a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. A past president of SSPC, Trimber is chairman of the association’s Commercial Coatings Committee, Surface Preparation Committee, and Containment Task Group, as well as a member of the Standards Review Committee. He is a past chairman of ASTM D1 on Paints and Related Coatings, Materials and Applications and author of The Industrial Lead Paint Removal Handbook.



Joseph Lstiburek, Ph.D, P.Eng., Building Science Corp.

Lstiburek is a principal of Building Science Corp. Lstiburek has been a licensed professional engineer in the province of Ontario since 1982 and is an ASHRAE Fellow. He is also an adjunct professor of building science at the University of Toronto. He has more than 30 years of experience in design, construction, investigation and building science research. He is a building science pioneer, particularly in the areas of air barriers, vapor barriers and vented and unvented assemblies, and he has had a lasting impact on building codes and practices throughout the world.




Jennifer Crisman, Senior Product Marketing Manager, Euclid Chemical

Crisman is the Senior Product Marketing Manager for Construction Products at The Euclid Chemical Company in Cleveland, Ohio. Jennifer began her career at Euclid Chemical over 20 years ago in the product development group, responsible for the formulation and testing of concrete coatings, sealers, adhesives and joint fillers. In her current role, Jennifer manages the marketing activities for these products as well as for Euclid’s concrete repair mortars, grouts, and waterproofing systems. She is a member of ASTM International subcommittee on Concrete Curing, as well as ACI technical committees on Curing Concrete, Repair of Concrete, and Decorative Concrete. Jennifer holds Bachelor of Chemical Engineering and Master of Business Administration degrees from Cleveland State University in Cleveland, Ohio.
